Writing Funding Applications with the Royal Literary Fund

23rd June 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Do you need to apply for a grant or other funding and would like to improve your writing skills? Join this online practical workshop with published writers to understand the key principles of writing funding applications.

Through writing exercises and discussion based on real funders and application processes, participants will explore how to understand what funders want. You will learn how to interpret funding criteria; clarify objectives and outcomes; and develop a structured approach to planning, writing and editing a funding application.

Led by published writers from the Royal Literary Fund, this participatory online workshop will help you:

  • Understand project planning and the key principles of writing applications for funding
  • Explore issues of content, structure and style in writing funding applications
  • Practise skills in marshalling information, formulating ideas and expressing themselves clearly, coherently and concisely.

Royal Literary Fund writers work in universities, with businesses and charities, and with NHS trusts to show people how to approach and plan different types of writing and to help them feel proud of their finished work. https://www.rlf.org.uk/education/social-sector/.
