RCN Hertfordshire – mental health awareness and suicide prevention learning event

28th June 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free

Hertfordshire branch members are invited to this event on mental health awareness and suicide prevention which is being held ahead of Armed Forces Day.

Liam Barnes, founder of the Laura Hyde Foundation, will talk about the foundation and their work.

Emergency service staff are at a much higher risk of suicide than the general population and are less likely to take up support provisions.  They also come into contact with regular traumatic situations meaning they are over 40% more likely to be impacted by severe mental health issues and over 50% less likely to take up support. Liam will be sharing some valuable information on how to look after yourself and your colleagues and how to spot signs that someone may need help and the support the foundation provides.

Members are able to attend this event in-person or online. For those attending online, the meeting will be held using Microsoft Teams. A link to join the meeting will be sent to you once you register your details to attend. When joining the meeting, please make sure you are clearly identified with your name on screen so we can admit you quickly to the event. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking your place. If you are joining on a mobile device, you may find it helpful to download the MS Teams app in advance.

We look forward to seeing you at this event.
