Heart failure day 2: Heart failure in Ischaemic heart disease
Ischaemic heart disease (IHD) remains the most common aetiology of heart failure in the UK. Management of heart failure in the setting of IHD raises many specific challenges and considerations that do not apply to other patients with heart failure.
This webinar will address the spectrum of heart failure management in the setting of ischaemic heart disease, including decision-making in medical therapy, the role of cardiac rehabilitation, use of implantable cardiac devices and surgical interventions such as revascularisation.
This is a subspecialty training day aimed at higher speciality trainees in Cardiology, particularly those specialising in heart failure, though the content will be relevant and of interest to a broad range of clinicians and other healthcare professionals across the field of Cardiology.
During this session, you will:
- Develop a better understanding of the management of heart failure in the setting of ischaemic heart disease medical therapy, implantable cardiac devices and surgical options
- Give confidence with managing challenging anticoagulation decisions in ischaemic heart disease and heart failure
- Appreciate the role of cardiac rehabilitation and the current national picture: what a typical cardiac rehabilitation programme looks like and how exercise is prescribed
This webinar is available for on-demand viewing. The webinar recording will be available for registered delegates up to 60 days after the live webinar broadcast via Zoom. The link will be sent 24 hours after the webinar takes place.
