Cardiovascular symposium and Harvey Prize 25/26: Environment and vascular health
March 17 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
Join us for the annual RSM Cardiovascular Symposium and Harvey Prize 2026, focusing on the critical intersection of environment and cardiovascular health. This year’s meeting will explore how air pollution, smoking and vaping, nutrition, sleep, and light exposure affect vascular and metabolic risk; more importantly how we can leverage this knowledge to improve our patients and our own health.
This all-day event will unite experts across cardiology, endocrinology, vascular, lipid, metabolic medicine, and public health, alongside early-career researchers competing for the Harvey Prize with original research presentations. The day will combine state-of-the-art lectures, panel discussions, and original data presentations to provide a 360° view of how environmental determinants shape cardiovascular outcomes.
Why attend?
- Explore the growing evidence linking the environment and cardiovascular disease and discuss how clinicians and public health professionals can translate this knowledge into prevention and management strategies.
- Learn about the cardiovascular impact of air pollution and strategies for mitigation.
- Engage with the evolving evidence around smoking, vaping, and other inhalants.
- Discover how food systems and the environment interact with metabolic and vascular risk.
- Gain up-to-date insights into mechanisms, epidemiology, and policy implications, and learn how to apply this understanding in clinical practice.
Learning aims:
- Understand the mechanisms linking environmental exposures to cardiovascular disease.
- Evaluate the impact of modifiable environmental factors in clinical risk assessment.
- Develop strategies for prevention and policy advocacy in environmental cardiovascular health.
- Recognise emerging research and technologies for monitoring and mitigating environmental cardiovascular risk.
By integrating perspectives from clinical medicine, public health, and environmental science, this symposium aims to inspire cross-disciplinary collaboration and advocacy for a healthier environment and a healthier blood vessels. Additionally, this meeting will close with presenting the Harvey Prize award, recognising outstanding emerging researchers in cardiovascular and environmental medicine.
